The league format is teams of three mixed triples playing at 2.00pm on a Thursday afternoon, outdoors during the summer season during the months from May to August/September. Each triple must have at least one lady and one gentleman playing on each rink.
There are 32 teams playing in the league which is divided into four geographical areas. With eight teams in each area, the teams play a total of fourteen matches, home and away. 7 points are available for each match, points being allocated as follows: 2 points for a winning rink, 1 point for a drawn rink, overall shots scored - 1 point for the winning side, half a point for a draw.
After the conclusion of the fourteen matches, the top two teams in each division will qualify for the play-off stage for the Stan Hardman Shield. This takes the format of a 'knock out stage' over three weeks with the division winners playing the runner-up in another division in the quarter final, winners progressing through to the semi-final and the winners of these games going through to the final.
